List of rice varieties in Pakistan

In Pakistan, there are three main types of rice varieties produced for both local consumption and export. These are:

  1. Basmati: This is an aromatic variety of rice that is known for its pleasant aroma and excellent cooking qualities. It is grown mainly in the northern regions of Pakistan.
  2. IRRI variety: This is a medium long grain variety of rice that is known for its high yield. It is mostly grown in the Sindh region of Pakistan.
