Honey Benefits

Honey is a sweet and viscous substance made by several bees and within the colony as a whole. The nectar is collected and stored in the bee’s honey stomach, where enzymes break down the complex sugars into simple sugars. Once the nectar is broken down, the bees return to the hive and regurgitate the nectar into the waiting mouths of other bees, who then store it in the honeycomb. As the water content of the nectar decreases through evaporation, the bees fan the honeycomb to further speed up the process. Once the honey has reached the desired consistency, the bees seal the honeycomb cells with wax to preserve it. Honey is a natural product and can be consumed as it is, or used as an ingredient in various foods and drinks.
